Se protege, a su vez el pedido del cliente para utilizar determinados grosores, largos o la gama del color, que siempre trabajamos sobre el “óxido”. El cuero de carpincho es exótico y tiene un valor superior a otros porque es difícil de conseguir. El carpincho es un animal de Sudamérica, salvaje donde se notan sus marcas de rasguños en los cueros. Tiene sus complicaciones en cuanto debe estar autorizado por Fauna Silvestre y tiene una limitada reproducción. Por este motivo es que se valora en extremo el hecho que haya productos o franjas enteras de este cuero sin rasguño, agujeros o manchas. Aunque siempre cuando alguien quiere entender la autenticidad del carpincho entonces se piden con algunas marcas. Es inevitable encontrarlas en los artículos de mayor tamaño como en camperas donde las marcas se notan en la espalda de las mismas. Una forma de verificar la autenticidad de un producto es notar en cada marca tres puntitos. Al tacto se siente como aterciopelado.
